Sunchime Privacy Policy
Effective date: 15 December 2025
Our philosophy
A couple things up front:
- We try to collect as few data about you as is necessary to make
Sunchime work. We don’t really want to know anything about you as an
individual. (No offense. We’re sure you’re a very nice person IRL.)
- If we ever did collect information about you, we wouldn’t sell it to
any third parties because we think that’s gross.
What data we collect
- We do not collect any personally identifiable information from you,
unless you choose to contact us for help or send us a comment. If you do
this, the app may add some basic information about the app and your
device to help us support you. This will be visible in the message you
send and you can remove it if you‘d prefer to.
- If you grant it permission, Sunchime asks iOS for your location and
uses to calculate the exact sunrise and sunset times where you are. This
location information never leaves your device, except when it is sent to
a service that Apple operates to convert location coordinates (e.g.,
“latitude 32.71º, longitude -117.16º”) into readable names (e.g., “San
Diego, California”). This service is built into iOS, and it is governed
by Apple’s privacy
policy.
- Apple may provide us with crash reports and usage data, which are
anonymized.
What we use data for
- Any data we do collect is used only to make Sunchime operate as
advertised. As we said above, we don’t want to know anything about you
personally, and we have no intention of ever selling any data we collect
to a third party.
Who we share data with
How to remove your data
- We don’t collect data from you. Consequently, there‘s no way for you
to remove it.
